Min Lokal is Swedish for "my local". We chose that name deliberately — because that's exactly what we wanted to build. Not a destination café, not a concept. Just a genuinely good place on your street.
Single-origin, seasonally sourced, carefully pulled. We care about the whole chain — from the farm to your cup.
Simple, seasonal, made in-house. We buy from local suppliers and change the menu when the produce does.
Warm, unhurried, and genuinely welcoming. Laptops are fine. So is staying for three coffees and doing nothing.
We hire people who love hospitality. People who'll remember your order and ask how your weekend was.
We spent a long time looking for the right street. Fitzroy kept coming up — not just because of the foot traffic, but because of the people. It's a suburb that still values a corner shop, a face you recognise, a place to land when the week gets heavy.
George Street felt right. Close enough to the Gardens that people walk past on their way somewhere, but quiet enough that sitting at a window table for an hour doesn't feel rushed.
We stripped the fit-out back to timber, green walls, and good light. Nothing pretentious. The idea was always: if you walked in as a stranger, you'd feel like a regular by the time you left.
That's still the idea. Come in.
422 George Street, Fitzroy. Stop in any morning — no reservation needed. Just knock (or just push the door, we keep it open).
